Privacy Policy
At StubbornWriter.com, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of visitors to this website. To demonstrate our seriousness about this issue, our privacy policy is outlined below (with no jokes or sarcasm either).
Collection and disclosure of information. We offer visitors the option of posting comments on our articles and/or signing up for our email list. To do so, individuals provide personal information such as names, addresses, email addresses, and telephone numbers. We collect this information from those people who affirmatively request to receive email, mail, or other communications from us. We do not sell, rent, or give this information to anyone other than our employees, staff, and agents working on our behalf.
Online comments and personal information. If a person submits a comment on an article on this website, that comment will be posted publicly (if approved) and any personal information contained therein will be visible to the public. Visitors are encouraged not to provide personally identifying information in their comments to protect their privacy and to reduce their risk of identity theft.
Opting out and/or modifying information. Subscribers to our email list may terminate or modify their subscriptions through a link at the bottom of each email.
Collection of browser information. We do not gather, request, record, require, collect, or track any personal information of our visitors when they visit our website. However, the tracking and analytics programs operating on our system do collect aggregate numbers of page hits from first-time visitors as well as from recurring visitors in order to track the popularity of certain pages and to improve the value of our site. StubbornWriter.com and its staff only review the summary data to improve the website.
Cookies. A cookie is a small item of data stored on a visitor’s web browser that helps a website or service recognize that user’s computer. Such tools are used by us solely for the purpose of site analytics and for improving the performance of the website.
Email list privacy. We maintain email lists for the purpose of keeping interested individuals informed about various matters. Individuals must affirmatively request to join our email list by signing up through the appropriate steps on our site. We do not sell, rent, or give our email list to anyone other than staff, employees, or agents working on our behalf. While we consider subscriber privacy to be of the upmost importance, please be aware that we use a third-party vendor for maintaining our email list and communications. Consequently, we are not responsible for any failures of the third-party service to protect list privacy. Please also see our policy on Collection and disclosure of information, stated above.
Children’s privacy. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) and with applicable Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations regarding the privacy of children using the Internet. Our site is not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we are notified that we have received information pertaining to children under the age of 13, then upon verification we will obtain parental consent or delete the information. To notify us of our receipt of information by children under 13 please use the Contact form on this site.
Changes to this policy. We will revise or update this policy if our practices change, if we believe that revision of our privacy policy explanation is appropriate, or as we develop better ways to make the public aware of the privacy policies of this site. Visitors should refer back to this site for the latest information and the effective date of any changes. If the privacy policy has been updated, it will be reflected in the date at the bottom of the page. Changes to the policy shall not apply retroactively.
