Wyoming Vacation in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks

September 22, 2017 by pfeifer

Last year (2016) we took a family vacation to Wyoming to visit Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. I meant to post information about the trip online a long time ago, but I’ve been very busy with other matters that kept me away from this website. While I plan to continue writing on my usual topics of interest, I am adding travel reviews, journals, and vacation guides to the material on this website.

Anyway, I’ve written a number of articles about our Yellowstone/Grand Teton vacation in Wyoming, and I’ve linked them all in the following list. The articles are longer and more rambling than I would prefer, but I was trying to cover a lot of material in a short time. I’ll be more concise and structure them differently in the future.

  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Vacation Review – Day 1, Teton Village, Jackson Hole, Wyoming
  • Breakfast buffet at Alpenhof Lodge in Teton Village
  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Vacation Review, Day 2 – Supplies and Jackson Lake Lodge
  • Jackson Lake Lodge Reviews – Pros and Cons
  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Vacation Review, Day 3 – Jackson Lake Lodge, Stargazing, and Colter Bay Village (CBV) Dinner Wagon Ride
  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Review, Day 4 – Old Faithful Snow Lodge and the Family Inn Restaurant
  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Review, Day 5 – Old Faithful Snow Lodge, West Thumb, Grant Village, Lakehouse Restaurant
  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Review, Day 6 – Grant Village General Store, Mammoth Springs, Mud Volcano, Dragon’s Mouth Spring, and Other Fun Stops
  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Review, Day 7 – Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel, Mammoth Springs Dining Room, Albright Visitor’s Center, and Stops on the Way to Signal Mountain
  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Review, Day 8 – Signal Mountain Lodge, Colter Bay Village, Ranchhouse Restaurant, Jackson Lake, Donoho Point, Elk Island
  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Review, Day 9 – Signal Mountain Lodge, the National Museum of Wildlife Art, Jackson Square, Moo’s, and the Snow King Resort
  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Review, Day 10 – Jackson, Snow King Lodge, Jackson Town Square, 4th of July Parade, Snow King Mini-Golf, Town Square Shootout, Jackson Hole Rodeo, and Fireworks
  • Yellowstone/Grand Teton Review, Day 11 – Leaving Town and Sitting on Planes

I hope you find the information helpful in your vacation planning.

Facebook Gold is a scam – don’t fall for it, don’t click on it, don’t like it

Image via CrunchBase Facebook Gold is a scam.  Don’t fall for it, don’t click on it, don’t like it. Many people are passing around an invitation to their Facebook friends to sign up for a group called Facebook Gold.  Sometimes it is an offer for a free membership (while they last), other times it is […]

Open-carry, Brady campaign, Starbucks, and the gun rights debates at Dunkin Donuts

Image via Wikipedia The debate among the open-carry gun rights advocates, Brady campaign supporters, and lovers of Starbucks coffee spilled over onto my Facebook page this morning after an innocent status update about Dunkin’ Donuts.  It became so entertaining I decided it could be converted into a blog post.  How’s that for harvesting the internet […]

Misleading Government Headlines on Bankruptcy Report

Yesterday the Administrative Office for the U.S. Courts released a report entitled Growth in Bankruptcy Filings Slows in Calendar Year 2010. At first glance, one might be lead to believe that meant that bankruptcy filings had gone down in 2010. While this would be the desired political result of a government that wants people to think […]

Rappin’ for Jesus – Church Video Fails – ‘Jesus Christ is my Nigga’

Given the rapid decline of young people interested in church or formal religious services, I understand why some ministers would look for creative ways to keep church youth interested in the program. Here’s a tip: rapping for Jesus is not the way for a white middle-aged pastor to reach young people. At least not in […]

Jackson Lake Lodge Review – Pros and Cons

We stayed at the Jackson Lake Lodge during the second and third nights of our Wyoming vacation. While there, I made a short list of the pros and cons of staying at their facility. Pros: Several dining choices in different price ranges Availability of huckleberry milkshakes A beautiful common area, both inside and outside, […]

Yellowstone/Grand Teton Vacation Review, Day 2 – Supplies and Jackson Lake Lodge

While everyone else in the family seemed to embrace Wyoming time and took advantage of the chance to sleep late, I woke up before 5:00 am. I took the opportunity to enjoy the quiet while having some morning coffee, and reacquainted myself with our travel itinerary. I also started the first of several days of […]

Idiots in Nebraska want Teachers in Shootouts with Students

Demonstrating a level of intellect only seen in state legislators and suicidal lemmings, Nebraska state senator Mark Christensen has introduced a bill into the Nebraska state legislature to authorize teachers to carry concealed handguns in schools. Apparently Senator Christensen feels that arming teachers to gun down students will help keep the students safer. I would […]
