What is a photocopier? Hilarious video from a real deposition transcript.

May 7, 2014 by pfeifer

We all think we know what a photocopier is, but in a lawsuit the precise definition and use of a term can be critically important. The video linked below is a dramatization of the testimony from a real deposition in which an attorney tries to pin a clerk down on precisely what he understands a photocopier to be.

In 2010, the Cuyahoga County Recorder’s Office in Ohio was sued over adopting a policy of charging a fee of $2.00 per page for photocopies of public documents. So what exactly is a photocopy, and what is a photocopier?

Watch the video. You’ll love it. Trust me.

Yellowstone/Grand Teton Review, Day 7 – Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel, Mammoth Springs Dining Room, Albright Visitor’s Center, and Stops on the Way to Signal Mountain Lodge

Although the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel was quiet during the night, the hallways were rather noisy in the morning. This was not due to unruly guests, but due to the hotel’s design. The hallways are long and solidly built, but with high ceilings and widely spaced walls. The tunnel effect seemed to amplify sounds, making […]

Yellowstone/Grand Teton Vacation Review, Day 4 – Old Faithful Snow Lodge and Family Inn Restaurant

We managed to get out of our room at Jackson Lake Lodge by the 11:00 a.m. checkout time. This got us downstairs and outside in time for the raptor show being put on by the Teton Raptor Center. Although we missed most of the programs like this, the Jackson Lake Lodge appears to host many […]

Lying Cops and Rubber-Stamp Judges: What Can an Appellate Court Do?

A recent ruling from a Florida appellate court in the case of Ruiz v. The appellate court all but said the law enforcement officers committed perjury, […]

2010 Top Superbowl Ads – funniest, most unexpected, classiest, most boring, and worst

The 2010 Superbowl game has come and gone, but the commercials remain behind to maximize their ad value for many years to come. Yellowstone/Grand Teton Review, Day 10 – Jackson, Snow King Lodge, Jackson Town Square, 4th of July Parade, Snow King Mini-Golf, Town Square Shootout, Jackson Hole Rodeo and Fireworks

Our first night sleeping at Snow King Lodge was great. Although I stayed up late as always, I fell asleep quickly in the big comfortable bed. Out of the entire trip, the beds and pillows at Snow King Lodge were the best. I probably could have slept through the entire morning had I not been […]

There are more dangerous things going on in cars than talking or texting on cell phones

Image via Wikipedia One of the latest trends in the criminalization of normal conduct is the enactment of laws banning the use of cell phones and/or texting while driving a car.  Despite the plethora of laws already in existence to regulate the minutia of citizen conduct, many lawmakers as well as Oprah Winfrey have decided […]

Idiots in Nebraska want Teachers in Shootouts with Students

Demonstrating a level of intellect only seen in state legislators and suicidal lemmings, Nebraska state senator Mark Christensen has introduced a bill into the Nebraska state legislature to authorize teachers to carry concealed handguns in schools. Apparently Senator Christensen feels that arming teachers to gun down students will help keep the students safer. I would […]
